I hate the fucking post office!

This morning, I went to the post office to mail Halloween packages to my sister and parents. I could not find packing tape at home, so I used duck tape, and I think I did a fine job.
The clerk refused to take my packages, said that my packing was «unacceptable»...
So I left with my packages and went to another post office, a little bit further from my house, but where I know people who work there are usually real nice.
The lady there had no problem at all with my packing performance.
I really think the first lady was just being a bitch because she knew she could get away with it... What could I do?
Pay more than 3 bucks for clear packing tape so I could go ahead and send my packages?
Or go to the store, buy cheaper tape, go home, re-pack, and then go back to the post office.
I don't think raising hell would have accomplished anything either, my past experiences with complaints to the Postal Services never solved anything nor brought any answers... And you don't know how it might backfire...

When the milk goes bad...

My day has not been very great so far...

As I work on preparing breakfast, I take some slices of bread to put in the toaster: green mold...

I brew some tea, and pour myself a cup and add a little bit of milk. I take a sip, and it tastes funny. I assume I must have bad morning breath... After I take a few more sips, the tea really still tastes funny... Because we've been having some problems with the dishwasher lately, my crazy brain decides there might be some soap residue in the mug that must be altering the taste of my beverage.
So I take a new clean mug, pour some more tea and milk. Still the same funky taste.
Luckily, I am an anlytical type person... If it is not my breath, nor the mug, it must be the milk...
I open the fridge, check the expiration date on the bottle (it is today), open it and smell it...
Yes, it is bad milk... Thank you, Captain Obvious!!!

I don't think today can get any better: I have a dentist 's appointment later this morning, then I have to work the closing shift at my favorite department store.

Une belle journée en perspective!

La Marche de l’Empereur

That movie came out in France at the end of January. Critics sounded good. The immensity of Antarctica, the life of penguins narrated through the voices of a female, a male and a child, and the magical music of Emilie Simon.

I was patiently waiting for the movie to come out on DVD in France so I could enjoy this fantastic tale.

Somehow, the movie made it to the States, and I really got excited.

I saw the March of the Penguins on Monday, and I was so ... disappointed.
Instead of the three voices telling their story, there was only one narrator, changing a poetic movie into a vulgar animal documentary. Worst of all, they did not even keep the original score (Bjork-like music), and replaced it with a typical, boring documentary-type music composed by Alex Wurman.

This is such a shame… It’s like they kept the footage and decided to change the story… Why would you even think of doing that?

Luckily, La Marche de l’Empereur just came out on DVD in France. I can’t wait to finally see the real movie.

All my apologies!

Alright, now I will look like the bad guy...

When I entered my stockroom this morning, I noticed more candy wrappers on the shelves and the jeans... But this time, the suspect had left something behind him...Some little, tiny, brown turds...
So apparently, at night, a or several rats are having a party in my office. It is totally disgusting! This could be another reason why my job sucks.
Anyway, I felt bad for saying my employees were pigs, so, please accept my apologies.

No respect!

I don't really have anything to say, but certain people have complained that I did not post anything in a while, so here it is...

Alright, I found something to bitch about...
It is almost Easter, and the nice boss that I am decided to bring a basket filled with candies to her associates.
I don't really have an office, it is more like a stockroom where a designated shelf serves as my desk. Because of the small size of my desk, I decided to place the basket on another shelf where we are backstocking jeans. A couple days after I brought the candies, I noticed that "people" were leaving the wrappers on the shelf, hiding some behind one of the piles of jeans, or even leaving some on the merchandise itself. I have to specify that I do have a trashcan in my stockroom/office.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE???

Is it too much to ask to dispose of the wrappers in the trashcan???
Maybe I'll make my case the next time one of them has to clean the fitting rooms and picks up soiled clothes because another one of our nasty customers decided to urinate or poop on our merchandise...
People don't respect anything anymore...
