I hate quitters!
Why can't people give a proper notice?
I work in retail and I am used to a high turnover among my coworkers, but what I can't get used to, is people walking out on you.
I hate my job and the company I work for, so I understand the reasons pushing my associates to pursue employment elsewhere: the grass is much greener on the other side... But why can't they talk to me, tell me they're leaving for a better opportunity.
I lost another associate today. I don't think I am a bad manager, I feel that I am rather easygoing and understanding. Today, an associate that has been working for me for over 6 months just quit while I was at lunch. She talked to the HR manager and left. She did not say a word to me, and of course, did not give any notice!!!
Not even the courtesy to tell me in person... This is what really kills me...
The problem is that I do care about the people who work for me, but they don't seem to give a shit about me.
I should just start being a bitch, stop caring and working around their problems, and don't give a damn when they leave... But this isn't me…

Easygoing and understanding...What the hell? Try ignoring your workers, talking down to them, berating them in front of others and calling them late at night to chat abour your fish tank. No one will ever leave unless they are fired.

People don't really care about each other anymore. Where I work, the staff think it is their personal social time and when I get annoyed when they take their 50th personal call during the day, they sit around and talk about how I take work too seriously. Is it too much to ask that people at work, do work? I was never this way when I was a lower level worker which is probably why i have progressed. These morons dont care at all, or I guess you could say they are the right ones, doing no work for pay.
