La Marche de l’Empereur
That movie came out in France at the end of January. Critics sounded good. The immensity of Antarctica, the life of penguins narrated through the voices of a female, a male and a child, and the magical music of Emilie Simon.
I was patiently waiting for the movie to come out on DVD in France so I could enjoy this fantastic tale.
Somehow, the movie made it to the States, and I really got excited.
I saw the March of the Penguins on Monday, and I was so ... disappointed.
Instead of the three voices telling their story, there was only one narrator, changing a poetic movie into a vulgar animal documentary. Worst of all, they did not even keep the original score (Bjork-like music), and replaced it with a typical, boring documentary-type music composed by Alex Wurman.
This is such a shame… It’s like they kept the footage and decided to change the story… Why would you even think of doing that?
Luckily, La Marche de l’Empereur just came out on DVD in France. I can’t wait to finally see the real movie.

Stephanie tried to get me to go to that movie. Luckily I stayed strong.
Happy 30th birthday.
